South Taranaki Conservation

Bushy Park Sanctuary

Native Bird Sanctuary

Located south of Waverley, is a 100 hectare predator-free native bird sanctuary, set amongst one of the few patches of virgin lowland forest.  As well as the Sanctuary, the property also features an Edwardian-era homestead that is a Category One Heritage Building. The Bushy Park Trust is now working hard to convert the stables building to an all-weather classroom for its popular Education Programme  – this is the project that we are supporting.

The Rotokare Scenic Reserve

Environmental Education

Inland Eltham is a jewel in South Taranaki’s conservation crown. Like Bushy Park Rotokare has a strong environmental education focus, and a wide outreach programme attracting schools from South Taranaki and beyond. We are assisting with the outdoor bush classroom project.

NZOG & Conservation

New Zealand Oil & Gas has worked with our South Taranaki Community Panel and we are pleased to confirm support for two exceptional examples of community-led conservation delivering outstanding ecological results.

Both projects have demonstrable community support, and a strong environmental and science education focus for young people of South Taranaki, Whanganui and beyond. We too share these values and are pleased to support those who are working with such passion.
